Summer Day Camps
MTC’s Summer Day Camps are designed to teach students voice, dance and acting skills, give them performance experience, build a sense of accomplishment, and, most of all, have fun. “Broadway Rhythm,” “Summer Show Tunes,” “Encore!” (Silver Spring), and “Limelight” (Germantown) focus on instruction in the musical theater disciplines. Each session works with all skill levels, creating a Broadway revue style of camp performance (singing and dancing). The morning consists of one hour each of acting, singing and dance lessons, with campers divided by age and skill level, and the afternoons are used to work on the end-of-camp performance for family and friends. “Curtain Call” campers work on creating a production incorporating scenes from several musicals while working on acting, singing and dance skills. Instruction is provided by artists/teachers and many of the staff are professional performers. Counselors are older high school or college age students who have advanced singing, dance and acting skills.
Camps hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Before-care, 8 a.m. - 9 a.m., and After-care, 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. is available.
Needs-based financial assistance is available.
