And now, as the Director of Music Technology, Entrepreneurship, and Production at the Roc Nation School of Music, Sports, and Entertainment, I have the privilege of imparting that knowledge to the next generation of musical theater leaders.

One of the things that excites me most about my role is the opportunity to bridge the gap between seasoned professionals and the up-and-coming stars. Young Guru, as I’m affectionately known, has spent decades navigating the complex landscape of the music industry. From working with legends like JAY-Z and Mariah Carey to pioneering new technologies, I’ve seen it all. And now, I’m thrilled to share that hard-earned wisdom with the students who will shape the future of musical theater.
It’s not just about teaching the technical skills, though. It’s about instilling a sense of resilience, adaptability, and entrepreneurial spirit in these aspiring artists. The Roc Nation Hope Scholarship
One of the ways we’re leveling the playing field and giving all students a chance to succeed is through the Roc Nation Hope Scholarship. This program provides financial assistance to 25% of our enrolled students, ensuring that talent and passion, rather than economic status, are the driving forces behind their success.
It’s a testament to the belief that the arts should be accessible to all, regardless of their background. And as I see these young artists flourish, I know that we’re not just shaping the future of musical theater – we’re creating a more inclusive and equitable industry, one that celebrates diverse voices and perspectives.
